Canadian Adventure CARavan - PNW Region
Pacific NW Region (PNR) is hosting a National CARavan, September Canadian Adventure, with Al McEwan as tour master.
Time to sign up for the famous Al McEwan/PNR CARavan!cPNR is hosting a national CCCA CARavan which will take us from Kirkland to Sun Mountain (2 nights) ; Kamloops, B.C. (1 night); Whistler, B.C. (3 nights with underground parking); Powell River, B.C. (1 night) and finally Victoria, B.C. (2 nights with underground parking). We will be on secondary roads for the most part and see some beautiful countryside. The activities are outstanding. There will be plenty of time for personal driving outside the group. There will be several extraordinary shopping opportunities for the ladies. This is not a “drive till you drop” CARavan.
One exceptional detail about the September CARavan is that you will be taking three ferries when we leave Whistler, BC, in route to our remote destination of Powell River, BC. Our trip will take you through the Canadian Gulf Islands (the extension of Washington state’s San Juan Islands). Around every turn is something new, be it porpoises dancing in the waters off the shoreline, whales traveling near our ferry or herds of deer on the steep island hillsides. In some instances our ferry will seem close enough to the islands, you will feel like you could reach out and touch the animal life. For some, this might be a preview of a future cruise ship tour to Alaska; all of this is beautiful and natural.
The town of Winthrop, near Sun Mountain, has many quaint shops in an authentic western town setting. Our five-star hotel at Whistler is in “the village” for easy access to food, shops, and sports. The hotel in downtown Victoria offers an easy walk to The Empress, the history museum and a large shopping mall. There will be plenty of other treats: horse-drawn wagons to a cowboy barbecue, musical entertainment at several of our stops, historical sites, zip-lining, ferry boat rides galore and at least one “$5 any item jewelry sale” at our hotel during the cocktail hour.
